Wease Show Rundown 1-6-14

Monday, Monday

We'll be getting more into details of this weekends football games, but Wease had a bad couple days of gambling.  He blames how easily influenced he is by other people.  He was planning on betting on New Orleans, but Ditullio talked him out of it, saying take Philly "to the bank".

We also talk about the strange story of the weekend... the missing Greece man that was found in Washington DC thanks to a picture and article in the USA Today about homeless people that featured the local man, Nick Simmons.  Wease says that when Doreen first told him the story he didn't believe it.

After football last night Wease wound up watching the "Best Of Jimmy Fallon" show, and fell in love with Fallon.  He says he laughed consistently for the whole time, and was amazed at the talent Jimmy has, the guests, and the funny bits.

Tools With Sports

All NFL talk with John this morning... Wease yells at Ditullio for his lousy advice this past weekend.  A caller and Wease talk about the point spread in Saturday's KC/Indy game, and how if you bet at the right time you could get both KC +1 1/2 and Indy +2 1/2... thus winning both sides.

Wease is planning on betting San Fran and San Diego next weekend.

In a sad story the wife of another John Ditullio in town died, and John got many calls from people wondering if it was his wife, but it isn't.

John says he's taking Auburn plus the points in tonight's Bowl game against Florida State.

Legalization Of Pot

The New York Times reported Saturday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo was preparing to legalize medical marijuana as an executive order. A Times source said Cuomo's plans include allowing 20 hospitals across the state to prescribe medicinal marijuana to people with cancer. New York would become the 21st state to allow it. “We have been pushing the governor to use executive session and we are absolutely ecstatic,” said Holly Anderson, executive director of the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. Anderson said she believes this could change cancer patients’ lives. “This is a substance that, for whatever reason, seems to work for nausea, vomiting and pain, and that isn't just limited to cancer patients,” she said.

Wease and Marianne discuss the pros and cons of legalization, examples where pot is useful, and how critics say marijuana is a gateway drug to harder stuff, but Wease contends that is beer.

If the legalized pot makes you hungry you can always make your own sauce and meatballs like Pauly does.  Learn how here, courtesy of Googs himself.

Plastic Surgery For Bullied Kids

Wease talks about seeing a Dateline last night which featured a story about a plastic surgeon that does plastic surgery to help bullied kids.

One of the kids shown last night was a kid with a weak chin... Wease talks about how his chin was like that, and always compared himself to Charlie Tuna.

Sex Sent Me To The Delivery Room

In a new clip from the TLC series 'Sex Sent Me to the ER,' a couple named Liz and Eric recount their embarrassing emergency room visit after Liz's orgasm won't quit.

The woman, Liz, and her partner Eric recounted their moment of panic for the TLC show "Sex Sent Me to the ER." (Last names aren't given on the show.)

The Seattle-area couple had been getting intimate before work, but as Eric got out of bed to start his day, Liz's climax was still going strong.

One hour into the orgasm, "I started hopping up and down to see if that would do anything," Liz recalls on the show.

"I started trying to drink wine to see if that would calm down my system. I tried just about every possible thing I could do to stop having an orgasm."

After two hours, the couple heads to the ER - where, Eric recalls, they attracted their share of stares and a few nosy comments.

Flu Shots

We call Wease's doctor to talk about this year's flu season, and the effectiveness of flu shots, which Marianne thinks are just a scam of pharmecutical companies to make more money.

Dr. Garneau is pro-flu shot, disagreeing with Marianne's reasoning... although Marianne says if she gets the flu she won't eat (and lose weight), and will get to stay home from work, so it's a win/win.

Picture Saves A Man's Life

We revisit the story of Nick Simmon's, the missing man from Greece who was found by his family thanks to a picture in the USA Today.

Nicholas Simmons, 20, of Greece, N.Y., warms himself on a steam grate with three homeless men by the Federal Trade Commission, just blocks from the Capitol, during frigid temperatures in Washington, Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. On New Year’s Day, Simmons disappeared from his parents’ house in a small upstate New York town, leaving behind his wallet, cellphone and everything else. Four days later, an Associated Press photographer, looking for a way to illustrate unusually cold weather, took his picture as he warmed himself on a steam grate a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol. His parents Paul and Michelle Simmons saw the photograph in USA Today Sunday morning after it was brought to their attention through a Facebook page set up to help find their son, according to police and family friends, and were able to report his location to D.C. police who transported him to a hospital where he was reunited with his father and brother who drove all day to find him. We wonder what issues led him from Rochester to Washington, and if he'll wind up with a reality show because of it.

Championship Game Thoughts

Tonight is the NCAA Football Championship Game between FSU and Auburn.  Here is why Auburn will win.  Unless you disagree with those reasons completely and think this is why FSU will win.

We also talk about the NFL games and this crazy fumble revovery from the Indy/KC game.

Wease is bummed that he's going to be at a charity event next Saturday night, and unable to watch the playoffs.

Rock Stars Hate their Hits

We find this article about rock stars that hate their biggest hits, from Robert Plant's distain for "Stairway To Heaven" to Mellencamp not liking "Jack and Diane", and the stories behind the songs.

Guns

Wease is against guns... some of the listeners are pro-gun... let the arguments commence!!!

Double Dink Dude

Reddit’s Ask Me Anything (AMA) section is one of the most unique functions the website offers where users can congregate to talk about, well, anything. When Reddit user “DoubleD**kDude” posted “I am the guy with two penises. AMA,” not surprisingly, the Internet came running for an explanation of this medical anomaly.

While the anonymous user kept his name out for obvious reasons, he did share that both are fully functioning and work independently from each other. Translation: both penises can achieve an erection and climax on their own.

“Both are 100 percent functional. It is Diphallia, not an absorbed twin,” he wrote in the post. “It's not genetic or inherited. I am bisexual and in a committed relationship with a man and a woman, but have permission to stray only with James Franco.”
