Wow! This story sends chills up my spine.
Anthropologists have exhumed 55 bodies at the site of the former Florida School for Boys, the Tampa Bay Times' Ben Montgomery reported yesterday.
The reform school, which went by many names during its 111-year existence, was notorious for its egregious mistreatment of students. Brutal beatings, murders, rapes and even students locked in irons had been reported at the school. The history is quite haunting.
The school was finally shut down in 2011.
