Billy and Susan at Niagara Falls Comic Con 2014

Billy D'Ettorre and his wife Susan geeked out at Niagara Falls Comic Con 2014.

  •
Billy and Susan get their picture taken with AMC's Comic Book Men. L-R Walt Flanagan, Billy, Mike Zapcic, Susan, Ming Chen. I wish I had thought to hold up the picture of Cryptozoic Man Walt drew for me a couple hours earlier.
  •
Harley Quinn and Catwoman got me right where they want me. Who am I to complain?
  •
Then the rest of the Rogues Gallery had to get involved.
  •
    Kids wreck everything.
  •
Hawkgirl flew in from the planet Thanagar, and boy are her wings tired.
  •
    So many things to buy.
  •
No, I didn't get that Superman figure.
  •
An overview of a portion of the convention dealer's room from above.
  •
I'll take one of everything please.
  •
Getting ready for the Comic Book Men Q&A with other fans of CBM, Tell Em Steve-Dave, and I Sell Comics....
  •
... and I'm very happy to be there.
  •
A fan drops a beat while Ming raps about why fellow cast mate/podcaster Bryan Johnson is missing the convention.
  •
Walt laughing at Ming's rap skills.
  •
Mike, Walt, and Ming listening to a Q, considering their A.
  •
Judging by the smiles on their faces they might be as happy to see me in the front row as I am to be their talking to them. Doubt it.
  •
You can't swing a dead bat at these conventions without hitting the Joker and Harley Quinn...
  •
... and most of the Harley's have big boobs
  •
Some Dr. Who cosplayers that captured Susan's imagination. "The Weeping Angel" is on the right.
  •
I'm not very familiar with Dr. Who, but these costumes looked great....
  •
...including this dog. I guess pets were allowed in if they were used as props. This is the only one I saw.
  •
More of The Weeping Angel and friends.
  •
You know the old saying... "The family that dresses up like Monty Python and the Holy Grail together stays together"... or something like that.
  •
    Lego Superman!!!
  •
I'll be honest with ya... I got nothing. Who are these two supposed to be? A little help someone?
  •
Ummmm.... a dragon offering up a little tail?
  •
    Who ya gonna call?
  •
D.C. Comics artist Ken Lashley was one of the many artists doing sketched for folks. He became our favorite.
  •
Susan stood in line for about 2 1/2 hours to get something drawn by Ken, chatting with him, other people in line, and me (when I stopped back occasionally to check on her).
  •
See? I told ya!!! Another Joker and Harley (with their old pal Two-Face).
  •
Hey Harvey, ya got something in your eye.
  •
It seems that the two most common costume themes at these conventions are Batman related, or Dr. Who themed, like these Daleks.
  •
Double the Daleks, double the fun.
  •
Amazing that with thousands of folks at NFCC a couple guys from Rochester (well, one's from Brockport, but close enough) are behind Susan at the Ken Lashley line. They are Wease Show listener's and even knew who I was. Shout out to Mike and Dan!!
  •
It wasn't THAT hot in there.
  •
Checking in with artist Ken Lashley again....
  •
... a really nice guy, chatting with the fans as he drew.
  •
Thor and Sif flew in from Asgard, and boy is their Hammer tired. It's the same joke!!!!
  •
How do two people that look like Thor and Sif wind up meeting in real life?
  •
Susan and Ken after Mr. Lashley drew her an amazing sketch of her favorite hero Plastic Man. You can tell I took this picture because it's kind of blurry.
  •
There... that picture is a little better.
  •
Only at a comic book convention can the Golden Age Silk Spectre hang out with Poison Ivy....
  •
.... and then I have to get in there and ruin the picture.
  •
I think me, Susan, Batman Jr., and Li'l Princess Leia were the last ones to leave the con.
  •
Goodbye Niagara Falls Comic-Con. See you next year.
