Billy At Fan Expo In Toronto

Billy D'Ettorre. the official nerd of The Wease Show went to Fan Expo Canada in Toronto. It's the Comic-Con of the north.

  •
Entering the convention center early Thursday to pick up my tickets.
  •
I got to enter the Expo early thanks to the ticket package I bought... I loved the empty dealers rooms.
  •
Just browsing through a few comics with other early birds.
  •
Does Harley Quinn want to dump the Joker for me?
  •
Here are a couple guys that should know where I can find a burger.
  •
Listening to the legendary Stan Lee during his Q&A Session.
  •
Batgirl and I chilling at the Batmobile from the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman movie.
  •
Sitting in the DeLorean from "Back To the Future". I'm not sure why Hulk Hogan's championship belts are on top of the car... maybe he tried to travel back to a time when he had hair.
  •
Me with a robot buddy who came to Fan Expo from a galaxy far, far away.
  •
The 50th anniversary of Dr. Who was being celebrated. Funny, he doesn't look that old.
  •
The Expo featured "sketch duels" in which at least 2 artists would draw a chosen subject, while also answering questions about their profession as comic book artists. Rocket Racoon #1
  •
    ... vs. Rocket Racoon #2
  •
I make friends with Rorschach, my favorite member of The Watchmen....
  •
... and then things go horribly wrong.
  •
Why is everyone trying to kill me?
  •
Gina Torres, star of TV shows like Firefly, Alias, and Suits answers audience questions
  •
Gina Torres answers my question about a possible return of Firefly... like it's her decision to make.
  •
Saturday was packed in the Toronto Convention Center.
  •
Even royalty is there hanging out.
  •
Deadpool, a random little kid, and I.
  •
In the middle of some gender bending Batman villains. From left to right... Riddler, Joker, Billy, Harley Quinn, Penguin, and Two-Face.
  •
    Who ya gonna call?
  •
My favorite comic book artist of all time, Neal Adams. I grew up on his 70's work with Batman, Deadman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Superman, and many more.
  •
Finally, someone hairier than I am.
  •
I got to meet the legendary Stan Lee... the man that created Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and many other classic Marvel Comics characters.
  •
One guy I met had Stan Lee autograph his leg, and then had it tattooed.
  •
Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz, two artists that have been working on Archie Comics for years. They were participating in a sketch duel where they weren't allowed to draw Archie characters.
  •
... so Princess Leia was the chosen subject.
  •
Here is Leia with Jabba. Interesting that both artists chose Bikini Leia.
  •
The sketch duel was joined by artist from DC and Marvel Comics, who then had to draw their versions of Archie characters.
  •
    ... the the classic Archie
  •
.... or Betty as Power Girl
  •
    ... classic Jughead
  •
... or a variation. Meet Jugshead
  •
Even Archie is unhappy about the next actor chosen to play Batman... even though I think it's a great choice.
  •
Creepy Archie is asked to choose between Betty and Veronica.
  •
Me with another one of my favorite artists, Lee Bermejo. Check out his work on the Batman book "Noel", or the Rorshach comic in the Before Watchmen series.
  •
The line for the escalator was kind of crazy on Saturday.
  •
Not sure how to explain this... it's a girl with a TV on her head. i'm sure it's a reference to something specific, but i don't know what.
  •
Susan and I met a Walking Dead fan named Laurel, doing her best impression of Merle Dixon.
  •
Cast members of The Walking Dead entering a packed theater for their Q&A session.
  •
Q&A with cast members of The Walking Dead. From left to right... Steven Yeun (Glenn), Michael Rooker (Merle), Laurie Holden (Andrea), and Norman Reedus (Daryl).
  •
The incredibly funny and entertaining Nathan Fillion, star of Firefly, and Castle.
  •
The escalator was still packed on Sunday
  •
I meet The Very Dark Knight
  •
Browsing a huge wall of tshirts, looking for just the right one(s) to purchase.
  •
Even Jesus couldn't make it through four days of nerds unscathed.
