Pauly's Sauce

Pauly shows you exactly how to make his special homemade pasta sauce. You can also listen to him describe the steps while scrolling thru these pics at http://www.kiss1067.com/media/ and look for the pauly podcast labeled "Pauly's Sauce Recipe"

  •
Everything you'll need to make your Sunday sauce
  •
Chop 1 small onion, 4 garlic cloves, and a small handful or green/red bell pepper
  •
Got a food processor? If you don't.. chop all of those things as fine as possible. If you do it's easy.
  •
It would be great if you could get it to this consistency
  •
Put a pot on medium-high and line the bottom with olive oil
  •
Throw in your onion, garlic, pepper mix. Add a can of tomato paste
  •
Mix Mix Mix all of that!!
  •
Put your canned tomatoes in a blender. The canned tomatoes contain tomato, basil, parsley, and salt
  •
Add your blended tomatoes to the pot and lower the heat to medium-low
  •
    It should look like this
  •
    Add red food coloring (optional)
  •
    Add a pinch more salt
  •
    Spices!! (Basil, Parsley, Oregano)
  •
    Spices!! (Basil, Parsley, Oregano)
  •
A pinch of sugar per quart of sauce
  •
Now get in there and stir!!
  •
    Stir Stir Stir
  •
Meat MAKES the flavor. Add your homemade meatballs (maybe that'll be my next recipe/photo gallery/podcast)
  •
    Stir those up in there
  •
Put a pan on the side and put it on medium-high heat and line the bottom with olive oil
  •
    Cut up your sausage
  •
    Fry it..
  •
..until it gets brown like this
  •
Now add the entire pan to the sauce.. grease and all (that grease MAKES the sauce)
  •
    Stir Stir Stir
  •
Lower the heat to low (simmer). Now just babysit. The sauce should be stirred once every 10 minutes or so and should cook anywhere from 1 to 4 hours.
